2.1.1. Definition of Nature Tourism

According to Law no. 5 of 1990 concerning the Conservation of Living Natural Resources and their Ecosystems, Nature Tourism Park is a nature conservation area which is mainly used for tourism and nature recreation. Meanwhile, the conservation area itself is an area with certain characteristics, both on land and in the waters that has a life support system, preserves the diversity of plant and animal species, as well as the sustainable use of living natural resources and their ecosystems.

2.2. History of the West Bali National Park

On March 24, 1911 a biologist from Germany, Dr. Baron Stressman, who was forced to land because the Maluku Expedition II ship was damaged around Singaraja for ± 3 months, found the Bali Starling as a specimen of his research in the vicinity of Bubunan Village ± 50 km from Singaraja. Then in 1025 an intensive observation was made by Dr. Baron Viktor von Plesen, in the opinion of Stressman, who saw that Bali Starling was very rare and different from all the other specimens he obtained, and it is known that the distribution of Bali Starling only starts from Bubunan Village to Gilimanuk covering an area of ​​± 320.

2.3. Potential of Flora and Fauna

A. FAUNA

TNBB is often identified as a national park that was formed to provide protection for the survival / existence of the Bali Starling (Leucopsar rothchildi). However, in general it can be said that the TNBB area is rich in fauna potential. Based on the types, the fauna found in TNBB includes 7 types of mammals, 2 types of reptiles, 105 types of aves, 120 types of fish, and others.

B. FLORA

Based on the altitude, the TNBB area is divided into 2 ecosystems, namely Land Ecosystem Types which include: Mangrove Forest Ecosystem, Coastal Forest Ecosystem, Coastal Forest Ecosystem, Seasonal Forest Ecosystem, Lowland Rain Forest Ecosystem, Evergreen Ecosystem, Savana Ecosystem, and River Rain Forest Ecosystem. . Meanwhile, Marine Ecosystem Types include Coral Reef Ecosystem, Seagrass Ecosystem, Sandy Beach Ecosystem, Shallow Marine Ecosystem, and Deep Sea Aquatic Ecosystem.
